Dubble

The poll was very close - but Dubstep triumphed over House in the last couple of hours with 29% of the vote. This was particularly annoying for me as i spent most of last night preparing a sweet House post - but whatever... you guys wants Dubstep, so you get Dubstep!

Its Dubstep / Glitch Hop - 'Psychedelic Stereo' is a whole heap of crazy, we've got pulsing synths, something that sounds like an accordion, a Joker like melody and a warning siren that takes you into the breakdown of rasping bass plus some sparkling flute? for a bit more variation...you can get Mimosa's EP here

I keep on gravitating back to this track - but then i always have a soft spot for any Dub & Run release. This time the unknowns have taken vocals from Elephant Man (god knows what track) and created a raw dub-styled half-step whomped bass track designed to shift peoples feet!

As the title 'Ras' Ganja Rudeboy' suggests, the sparse lyrics (mostly 'Bumbaclot') are being belted out by some angry Rasta, which is perfect for these dark dub rhythms... taken from 'Street Science Vol. 2' which is well worth the download

Max Cooper has taken 'I' from the Harmonisch Serie, retained the minimal feel of the original (the subtle hiss noises, the odd diminutive click on the offbeat and the  whispering synths,) and boosted the bass until the track throbs, creating an experimental foray into Dubstep which doesn't disappoint...you can get it here

From the start 'Midnight' has all the hallmarks of Liquid Drum n' Bass, however i checked and its definitely Dubstep - jubilant horn fanfares, heavy claps, bright leads and grinding bass... mucky... whenever this song plays i find myself nodding my head - the digital release is available here

From 19 year old producer Lung comes the track 'Afterlife.' The sub is huge - my earphones can't handle the bass, ghostly vocals lend the track an eerie undertone, but despite this sombre undercurrent the fantastic 'breaky' beats means its just full of energy - hard to believe the quality of this debut release!
